Literacy Council of Union County, AR
The Literacy Council of Union County provides free instruction through trained volunteer tutors for Union County adults who lack basic reading, writing, mathematics, and/or English as a second language skills. In addition, the council provides help with filling out job applications and writing resumes. As needed, the council provides basic classes in computer/digital literacy, financial literacy, and health literacy.

At the Literacy Council of Union County, we offer programs in Adult Basic English and English as a Second Language. Our mission is to empower our learners to gain the confidence and skills they need to become successful citizens in their community.
Achieve your reading goals
Examples of some personal goals achieved by our students include: finding a job; gaining a promotion, driver’s license or citizenship; improving their ability to help their children with homework; understanding directions from doctors; talking with their children’s teachers; and, interacting with the community as a whole. Our experienced volunteer tutors are here to help students reach their goals. Whether it's learning basic literacy or improving English language skills, our volunteers are committed to helping students reach their potential.
